The November mailing of SMT & Bulletin is scheduled for collection by Royal Mail from Warners Midlands in Bourne this coming Friday 13th November.  As usual, the entire mailing for UK and overseas residents will be collected at the same time.

Mailing to UK residents is First Class, so I would expect many UK members to receive their packages on Saturday 14th.  Royal Mail still experience difficulty due to Coronavirus.  Further information of the mailing situation within the UK can be found here.

Mailing to overseas members is as usual by Air Mail, but delivery times are still affected by the pandemic.  Further information of the mailing situation from the UK to countries overseas can be found here.

SMT and Bulletin will be available on our Members Only web site from 09:00 on Saturday 14th November.  If you haven’t received an invitation to activate your account on the site, or can’t find it, please email members.site@16mm.org.uk providing your surname, membership number and post code and we’ll send an invitation as soon as we can.

The bulk of my Chairman’s Column is devoted to preliminary plans for the next National Garden Railway Show scheduled for 26th June 2021.  If you’re interested in how we plan to deliver the show and what changes we’ll need to make in light of Coronavirus, this will give you an insight into our current thinking.

I’d again like to thank SMT Editor Gareth Jones and Bulletin Editor Dave Gordon for compiling full issues of their magazines, and to everyone who contributed to the content.  Gareth will be looking for material for the February 2021 issue, so if you’re working on a project, please consider documenting it and submitting an article for inclusion in a future SMT.  I hope you enjoy yours when it arrives, or when you read it online, and that it lifts spirits in these continuing difficult times.

Alan Regan, Chairman and Membership Secretary
