- Published monthly, Garden Rail magazine covers all aspects of outdoor model railways.
Clubs and societies
- The G Scale Society was founded in 1987 and now has over 1400 members in the UK and overseas. It caters for all modellers working in G Scale (the modelling of narrow gauge railways on track 45mm wide) and has a liberal approach, believing that enjoyment is just as important as rivet-counting.
- If you are interested in full size Narrow Gauge, try the Narrow Gauge Railway Society.
- The 16mm Garratt Owners & operators Association will appeal to all who like large locomotives that bend.
- Brambleton Model Railway Club have both 'O' gauge and 16mm scale/32mmm gauge circuits and regularly host meetings for the West Herts Area Group of the Association.
- Ipswich Model Engineering Society have a 45mm track of over 120 metres in length. Meetings take place on a Tuesday evening and prospective new members are always welcome. They also have 3.5 and 5 inch raised lines for larger scales.
- The Gauge One Model Railway Association covers mainly standard gauge on 45mm gauge track but there is much of interest to 16mm narrow gauge modellers.
- For a standard gauge feeder to your narrow gauge line try the Gauge '3' Society.
- The LNWR society is for enthusiasts of the "Premier Line". (This is not the Little North Worcestershire Railway).
- The Ashmanhaugh Light Railway is a delightful 7.25 inch gauge railway at Wroxham in Norfolk
