You can buy a ready-to-run live steam loco or a battery powered loco. Speed and direction can be set manually or by radio control. Many coaches and wagons can be bought as kits which are easy to assemble. Some members build models from scratch. Track and points can also be bought assembled or as kits, or scratch built.

The main source of 16mm equipment is through manufacturers and suppliers who advertise in the Association's magazine "16mm Today" and some commercial magazines.
