There are 38 Local Area Groups of the 16mm Association in the UK, each of which organise a regular program of meetings, open days and other events throughout the country. Members are always welcome at these events - all we ask is that you contact your host a day or two beforehand and also make an appropriate contribution to the cost of any refreshments provided.

• Canada. The Toronto Area Group meets informally for steaming sessions every Wednesday evening during the summer months - May through october - at Members' railways. • New Zealand. We are a far flung bunch and our membership is spread between Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch so we meet up when we can though this is informal and, of necessity, infrequent. Though still less than 5 garden lines nationwide, the number of railways available for running is gradually growing and interest is fed and maintained through our local email group.

  NZ Railways run on 3'6" so the whole NG thing is deeply entrenched in our culture of modelling. Standards and abilities of modelling vary as with any group but we enjoy combining our generally British roots with practices in this far flung post of the old Dominion. This gives a NZ flavour with refreshing results.

  New members are always welcome, touring members are recommended to contact us before their visit, then if there is any extra local topical interest that we can suggest, it can be worked into the touring timetable.
